toys

Why is it they go for stuff that’s dangerous??? In the past few days, Marie has found scissors, superglue, white-out, watch batteries, Nair, markers (not really dangerous, but boy are they messy), and a book of matches. Luckily she didn’t know what the matches were for. She just stuck them in her ears like Q-tips.

Tomorrow's the day…

If all goes according to plan, I’ll be taking Marie’s crib apart after her nap tomorrow, and moving it into her new room. She’ll get a couple nights to sleep in it, and then be moving into her “big girl bed”. It’s about time, Marie can now climb into the crib herself. Don’t anyone tell her, she hasn’t figured out that she could easily climb or jump out of it…

Fussy!

Brian had a rough night tonight. He was fighting a gas bubble, and got so upset and tense that it just got worse. For about an hour, while Mom was at work, he was just _wailing_. Fortunately, Mom returned and rescued him. A little food helped him relax enough to sleep. *Whew!*

So Beautiful

Yesterday morning, Marie and I were in the kitchen and she said she saw a spider. “Yikes!” I thought, and my first instinct was to squish it with my shoe. I know spiders are good and I don’t like to kill them, but this was sort of medium sized and looked like it might be hairy. I restrained myself, though, because I don’t want to teach Marie to kill spiders. It was crawling along the wall just under the window. Marie said “it’s so beautiful!” Whoa. Well, that changed my attitude! I said yes it is. She leaned on her chair and asked to watch it, so I said sure and we watched it crawl around. They _are_ pretty neat.

Oreos!

Marie had her first oreo today! She liked it and she even asked to have it opened. Yum, yum. I really wanted to take a picture of how she looked covered in oreo crumbs, but she was heading straight for Brian and I had to clean her off before I got to the camera. He was spared, but yesterday he wasn’t so lucky – she patted him on the head covered in honey and chicken nugget breading after lunch. Sweet!

Munchies

Ok, this is what Marie had to eat today:
Cheerios and Chex with milk for breakfast, some apple juice, and then a snack of dry cheerios and chex later while she was watching Sesame street. Elmo’s world was about bananas, so she had a banana too. Then some milk in the car on the way home from seeing some friends. For lunch, three chicken nuggets, corn, green beans, honey (for dipping the nuggets and the green beans), grapes. Then after her nap a snack of pretzels and a little yogurt. For dinner, cheese ravioli, about half a baked potato, and part of my dinner of leftover chicken and big girl cheese ravioli. Oh, and some more milk. Brian ate a lot today too, but it was all the same stuff. 🙂
