Brian can say “uh-oh!”
He likes to say it over an over with great emotion, and usually when something drops on the floor. Sometimes you can prompt him to say it, too. He smiles and smiles. 🙂

Brian took a step today! Twice! Once when Peter was around, and the second time when I was there. He still thinks crawling is better; he’s so fast and he can certainly get into anything that way. But, I think he’ll be walking like a pro in no time!

The big party is Sunday evening, more to come!

Today, Brian basically whined and whimpered from the time he woke up (10am) until the time he went down for a nap (1pm). We were convinced he must be sick, probably an ear infection or something. So, we made a Doctor’s appointment for 2:45pm.

After waking up from his nap, he was as happy and chipper as could be. Oops. Not wanting to cancel on the Doctor, we went anyway, to be told he looks healthy and perhaps teething was the source of his woes. You’d think we could spot teething warning signs by now…

We took Marie to the doctor today for her 3-year-old well baby checkup. She was very pleasant and cooperative and seemed to get a kick out of having them check her out! She weighs 30.6 pounds and is a little over 3 feet tall. The doctor said she is very healthy! AND they gave her a red balloon!

What an adventurous day! Marie’s 3^rd^ birthday was today, as well as her birthday party. We had a painting party, with large sheets of paper set up in the backyard for the kids to paint on. (And washable paints!) We had 9 kids including cousins Elise and Natalie, friend Matthew, and all the neighborhood gang. Marie didn’t eat well, and didn’t take a nap–so the rest of the day was… emotional. She’s sleeping peacefully now, and she’s happy to be 3! She still has many presents to open tomorrow. We’re so proud of our big girl!

For beans! Yes, Brian would not be quiet tonight until I gave him some black beans from our mexican lasagna. Actually I gave him 3-4 at a time and had to keep his tray stocked otherwise he would scream for more. I guess it was a welcome change from his baby cereal with carrots. (yuck!)

I left the bathroom door open today as I was putting Marie down for her nap. Brian crawled in there and it got really quiet. I checked on him, and he was eating toilet paper. It was clean, you know, fresh from the roll, but still GROSS.

Brian hums when he hears music!

No, she didn’t actually nap. She is also wearing no clothes and hasn’t been since about 1:30. The diaper at least stayed on. She is sitting on the potty now working on my crossword puzzle.
