So Beautiful

Yesterday morning, Marie and I were in the kitchen and she said she saw a spider. “Yikes!” I thought, and my first instinct was to squish it with my shoe. I know spiders are good and I don’t like to kill them, but this was sort of medium sized and looked like it might be hairy. I restrained myself, though, because I don’t want to teach Marie to kill spiders. It was crawling along the wall just under the window. Marie said “it’s so beautiful!” Whoa. Well, that changed my attitude! I said yes it is. She leaned on her chair and asked to watch it, so I said sure and we watched it crawl around. They _are_ pretty neat.

Munchies

Ok, this is what Marie had to eat today:
Cheerios and Chex with milk for breakfast, some apple juice, and then a snack of dry cheerios and chex later while she was watching Sesame street. Elmo’s world was about bananas, so she had a banana too. Then some milk in the car on the way home from seeing some friends. For lunch, three chicken nuggets, corn, green beans, honey (for dipping the nuggets and the green beans), grapes. Then after her nap a snack of pretzels and a little yogurt. For dinner, cheese ravioli, about half a baked potato, and part of my dinner of leftover chicken and big girl cheese ravioli. Oh, and some more milk. Brian ate a lot today too, but it was all the same stuff. 🙂

Funny

Yesterday was a fun day. The funniest part for Marie was when she kept trying to feed me one of her fruit snacks and I kept refusing. (They are gross!) She laughed and laughed as I moved her hand away each time!

Fussy Boy

Poor Brian has not been feeling well all day. It was one of those days where he would sleep for like 10-20 minutes and then wake up crying. He didn’t want to eat, didn’t want to sleep unless I was walking around holding him (which is ok, but I can only do it for so long) and didn’t want to sit in his bucket. Finally after dinner, he fell asleep in my lap as Marie and I watched Sesame street. Then he woke up again and had a BATH which he LOVES and now he feels much better. Cooing and gurgling and …. well… now he’s fussing again but I think it’s just because he made a big stinky diaper and it woke him up. Can’t blame him!

love your neighbor

Last time we went to the little park down the street, Marie was singing the veggie tales song “love your neighbor” as she was swinging. We went to that park tonight before dinner and there was a little boy there with his dad. The dad just sat on his blanket as the little boy bounced up to us, so I asked if he wanted to swing and he said yes so I helped him up (he was maybe 3) and pushed him and Marie for like 20 minutes. I guess I look non-threatening. The kiddies had fun.
