I just cleaned out my car. Yes, it had the usual stuff in it – toys, a dirty diaper, cracker crumbs, etc. but I found a pair of socks as well. Not surprising, since by the time we got to the furniture store yesterday, Marie had removed her socks. However, I discovered just now that she had also stuffed her binky in one of them. Heehee!

Bob and Larry
Marie is currently obsessed with watching Bob and Larry – Veggietales. She randomly bursts into song, singing the theme song or the hairbrush song or yesterday she was singing “Love Your Neighbor”. I guess there are worse things to be obsessed with.
Brian's two month checkup
Brian had his checkup today… All was well, in Dr. Lee’s words, “he looks awesome.” Brian weighed in at 13lbs 2oz, and was measuring 23 inches tall. That bumps him to the 80th percentile on weight, and still a steady 50% percentile for height. Go Brian!
No thyroid problems…
I’m feeling bad that I never followed up on my weblog post “here.”:http://pmhesse.blogspot.com/2005/06/congenital-hypothyroidism.html It turns out that Brian has only a benign condition resulting in low thryoid binding globulin levels. This causes the thyroid readings to come out low. The best description I found was “on this page:”:http://www.endocrineweb.com/tests.html
bq. Most of the thyroid hormones in the blood are attached to a protein called thyroid binding globulin (TBG). If there is an excess or deficiency of this protein it alters the T4 or T3 measurement but does not affect the action of the hormone. If a patient appears to have normal thyroid function, but an unexplained high or low T4, or T3, it may be due to an increase or decrease of TBG.
So, the bottom line is, there is no problem! Hooray!
New Computer
We’ve got a new computer downstairs, which hopefully will make it easier for mom to participate in this website!
VeggieTales
Marie loves “_Bob and Larry_”. At “Costco”:http://www.costco.com the other day, I purchased a two-pack containing the two latest “VeggieTales”:http://www.bigidea.com/videos/veggietales/default.htm videos: Duke and the Great Pie War and Minnesota Cuke. Marie warched Duke tonight, and was quickly bored. While still cute, it seemed overproduced and the story was too complicated for a two year old. I guess we’ll probably be stuck watching the older simpler episodes for the forseeable future.
Not a trend…
Too bad, Brian didn’t pull off a repeat performance last night 🙂 At least we’re getting some sleep!
Sleeping through the night…
Brian slept through the night for the first time last night. He got in his carseat at 10pm when mom left church, and didn’t wake up until 6:30 this morning! He must have been quite cozy in there. Let’s hope it’s a trend!
Doctor Appointment
Brian went to the doctor today… He has been suffering from a “goopy eye” for about a week, with no other symptoms. Sure enough, it is a simple case of “conjunctivitis”:http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/eye/conjunctivitis.html. He got some eyedrops, but is otherwise in perfect health.
Standing on chairs is bad.
Marie took a dive off her chair at the kitchen table today. She fell and hit the back of her head on the floor. She’s fine, but later on in the day, she stood up in her chair again, and got upset when we forced her to sit down. Ahh, the terrible two’s!
